🧑‍🎓 About us: We help students discover where to learn

In it’s best form, learning is a bridge to anywhere. Finding the institutions that fit you best as a student is so important, but evidence shows that it’s way too hard for the typical student to discover the right path.

Loper connects students and learning institutions through a personalized marketplace platform, reducing friction transitional periods in one’s education. Our initial product focuses on a critical juncture: students discovering the 4yr institution that works best for them after high school. Through helping students focus on their preferences instead of a school’s prestige, we’re upending the world of stress-inducing rankings and mailboxes flooded with generic pamphlets. Our platform is free for students, and we partner with educational institutions to revolutionize the engagement that prospective applicants receive (say it with us: no 👏 more 👏 spam).

The journey doesn’t end there, though. The higher education landscape is evolving rapidly, and we’re at the forefront of helping students navigate that landscape, facilitating stronger connections between applicants and all types of learning programs. Our mission is to improve post-secondary educational outcomes. As society redefines education, we’re excited to help students discover where to learn.

☕️ Life at Loper

Our team is small and hungry to empower students. You can catch us in River North in Chicago (if we’re not at many of the upcoming higher education conferences around the country) or in Washington DC; today, we’re equally split between those two locations.

We have a ‘no wrong questions’ culture of investigation and transparency. We’re building a company rooted in our own vision: learning is a lifelong endeavor where we should promote discovery and problem solving while embracing those moments where we either don’t know or don’t fully understand the solution.

Today and in perpetuity, it’s our priority to maintain a constant, open line of communication with both our users (Gen-Zs) and customers (learning institutions) to speak their language and meet them where they are, particularly as we help them maintain an open line of communication with each other.

We (Eric, Sam, Conrad, and Laura) are a growing team of different folks passionate about improving educational outcomes and students’ sense of belonging
